How long does it take to repair my car?
Once you’ve contacted us, received your estimate, and are ready for us to begin repairs, the next thing you’re probably wondering is how long it will take. The amount of time that Tachoir requires to fix your vehicle will depend upon a series of factors, including the extent of damages, the state of your vehicle prior to the wreckage, the make, and model of your vehicle, etc.
How long auto body repairs may take depending on the situation:
Do you work with insurance companies?
We work with all major insurance companies, and in fact, we are a preferred body shop for many insurance companies. At Tachoir, we handle the insurance claim process from start to finish. Farmers, Allstate, Erie, Liberty Mutual, Safeco, USAA, and Nationwide are some insurance companies we partner with.
We also work with other carriers such as Penn National, Geico, Progressive, Traveler’s, etc. These insurance carriers that we do not have contracted labor and parts policies with with may send an adjuster to your home, or ask you to take photos of your vehicle with an app to get an initial estimate. Once you have an initial estimate, we can handle your claim and repairs from there on out. All repairs come with a Written Lifetime Warranty.
Do I need an appointment?
We do suggest scheduling an appointment ahead of time, but if you find yourself short on time, please give us a call at and we will do the best to fit you in as soon as possible.
Do you provide rental cars while my vehicle is being repaired?
Yes! Our partnerships with Enterprise Rent-a-Car and Hertz save our customers both time and money with on-site rental cars in Jefferson Hills and Allegheny County. When you bring your vehicle to us for repairs, we’ll schedule your rental car for you with one of our rental car partners, Enterprise Rent-a-Car or Hertz. Your rental car will be on-site, ready for you within minutes. When repairs are completed, you can leave your rental car at Tachoir Auto Body and get directly into your personal vehicle.
My insurance company recommended a different body shop. Do I have to go there or can I still choose Tachoir Collision Center for my repairs?
No, where you take your vehicle is ultimately your decision. If your car is not safe to drive at the scene of an accident, you can request us to have it towed directly to Tachoir Collision Center. Our emergency towing services are provided through a curated network of licensed affiliates who are on call 24 hours a day, 7 days a week.
Do I have to pay a deductible?
The amount of the deductible that you will be responsible for is determined by your insurance policy. If you were not at fault, your insurance company may waive your deductible. If applicable, your deductible is paid directly to Tachoir Collision Center when you pick-up your restored vehicle.
If you were hit and the person that hit you claims they are not at fault, your insurance company may decide to recover expenses by going after the other persons’s insurance. This process is called subrogation and can take months to complete. In this scenario, you will be required to pay your deductible upon picking up your vehicle. Your insurance company will reimburse you once the expenses are recouped from the other person’s policy.
Do you provide a warranty?
Yes! At Tachoir Collision Center, we provide lifetime warranty on workmanship with all repairs.
